Guemes Channel Trail, Anacortes

#11 of 11 in Parks in Anacortes
Biking Trail · Hidden Gem · Hiking Trail
The trail would follow the channel shoreline as much as possible, linking downtown Anacortes and Washington Park. The transportation benefit and scenic attraction of a shoreline multi-use path from Washington Park and the Washington State Ferry terminal to the heart of Anacortes is guaranteed to be as popular an addition to the quality of life in Anacortes as the Tommy Thompson Trail parkway has been. By effectively extending the Tommy Thompson Trail along our north shore this second rail bed will complete the vision of an island connected by a perimeter trail.

The trail give Anacortes residents peaceful and scenic access along the waterfront with views up the Bellingham Channel and to the Guemes and Cypress Islands. It will bring economic vitality to both the ferry terminal and the downtown as visitors will truly be able to shop without losing their spot in the line at the terminal.
