We did the Dog Sledding tour at Dallas Seavey's "AK Sled Dog Tours" in Talkeetna. It was a great experience and the Salmon Berry Staff was awesome. Thanks Robby for the exceptional customer service! We really appreciated all of your insight and conversation.
My wife and I just returned from a Salmon Berry Northern Lights Tour. It was fantastic!! We had several opportunities to view the Northern Lights. The first night, we were taken out in the country, away from the lights of Fairbanks, where we had an excellent view of the Northern Lights. The second day, we were flown 60 miles above the Arctic Circle to Coldfoot, AK. We had lunch there and returned by motor coach with a stop at the Arctic Circle sign for photos and again at the Yukon River Camp for dinner. We had another opportunity to see the lights on the way back to Fairbanks. We went to Chena Hot Springs the next day for a tour of their Ice Museum, a great meal and a couple of hours relaxing in the outdoor hot springs pool. When we returned to Fairbanks, some of our party wanted to try and see the lights again. Even though it was late, our guide Chad immediately volunteered to drive us back out into the country where we had even better viewing than the first night. We next took an all day ride on the Alaska Railroad from Fairbanks to Talkeetna, AK through some of the most beautiful country on Earth. We had a chance to see Talkeetna and spend a night there. The next day, after a fabulous breakfast at the Talkeetna Roadhouse, we headed out to Dallas Seavey's homestead for a several hour tour of his sled dog breeding operation and a dog sled ride. My wife and I both had the chance to drive the team with the other as a passenger. It was a thrill! I cannot rave enough about this experience. Our guide for most of the week, Chad, was super friendly and he had an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Alaska including he Iditarod race which was going on during our tour. Mary M. was also awesome! Everyone on the Salmon Berry team was friendly and helpful. This was a "bucket list" experience for both of us. Our tour group was twelve people and this gave us the chance to get to know each other much better than when there is a large group. My wife and I give Salmon Berry Travel & Tours our highest recommendation!!! Paul and Jan Bilodeau Augusta, GA
