This is a beautiful park! Although Mounds is super close to my home I'd never been there before today. I guess I didn't realize what a cool place it is. The trails and facilities are really well kept and they are plenty of sign boards that explain the Mounds and the history of the park. The only down side was the price, which was $7 per car load. Since it was just me and my dog it was a bit steep, but now that I know what a gorgeous place it is I'll see about a yearly pass. My dog and I spent about three and a half hours exploring the woods and there's still a lot more to see! We'll absolutely be back soon.
This is a great place to let the kids run. Very pretty river. They need to maintain the trails just a little bit better, and add shade native wildflowers to make the hike a little more educational and pretty.
