Part of a rails-to-trails initiative, West Orange Trail serves as a 35 km (22 mi) long multi-use recreational path that follows the alignments of a former railroad. The trail welcomes walkers, joggers, hikers, bikers, and rollerbladers on a journey through the region's past and present, with it's 4 m (14 ft) wide pavement path passing through railroad communities established in the 1950s.There are preserved railroad stations along the trail that provide parking, restrooms, bike racks, drinking fountains, and bike rentals. Each station has picnic tables and a playground, and some have concession stands, basketball courts, and tennis courts.
