  • The best lake in southern Az. The Forest Service stocks it with good size rainbow trout in the winter. Two floating docks, can fish both of them. One has pole holders, bait stations, and rails. You can fish the whole shore of the lake or hike the perimeter trail (keep an eye out for the pygmy deer.) There is a well equiped bait/country store operated by a family, that also rents boats(expensive), kayaks, paddle boards, and all the water sport equipment. There are bear trash cans for your food waste, and some pretty rank bathrooms. The kind with the green chemical and a hole. The parking fee is 4 bucks.
  • Just your basic lake. It is very obvious from water line marks how much this lake has evaporated - not really sure how the water is sourced. Not a lot of shade, so bring a canopy. Mid-May, the weather was warm and dry and the water felt cool and refreshing. Great place for fishing or kayaking since there were very few motorized boats. Gave it four stars for the marina store and the accessibility.
