  • What a lovely place and AMAZING cabin! We stay at 1-2 state park cabins per year and this is by far the nicest cabin in a park we've stayed in. It is newly remodeled and very nice! We stayed in...  more »
  • Wonderful visitor's center. Beautiful nature. The park is huge! Has two lakes, both have swimming beaches.  more »
  • This park has awesome trails for hiking and mountain bike riding. There’s also options for horseback riding if you own ponies. Beware of snakes. The military trail is my favorite trail for walking for about an hour at a time. This is the one that is entered from the levee on Lake Austell. The stairs are a nice way to begin. It’s safe to bring 2 bottles of water. It’s always nice to see wilderness roaming freely.
  • Such a great park with excellent staff! I did 10 miles on Monday and 14.5 on Friday. Really enjoyed my vacation hiking adventures. Some people had mentioned this being an intermediate hike. I think that is laughable. It is an easy hike, I've had sidewalks with more incline. There is no technical footwork required and no drop offs. However, the way each segment is connected is nice. You can really customize how far you want to go. I highly recommend. 👍
