  • This really is a moving, solemn, but beautiful experience. One that everyone should seek out at least once. For you youngsters, please remember to remove your hat during the ceremony.  more »
  • We caught the changing of the guard which happens every half hor and it was most impressive. We were located on the side the guards enter and leave from so were able to see them up close.  more »

  • A great thing to watch and see. My wife has always wanted to watch a changing of the guard. My kids enjoyed it also. We were also lucky enough to witness a wreath ceremony. This is something to see if you're in D.C. taking in the sights. We payed extra for the tram tour of the grounds well worth it. There is a metro stop just outside the entrance to the cemetery. Some tour groups will take you there by bus or its a 1 mile walk from the Lincoln memorial to the entrance.
  • Awesome and awe-inspiring as always. Get there 20 minutes early and stand close to the front, right behind the ropes. That way you can see the ritual arms inspection at the beginning, done silently and in beautiful flourishes. And make sure you stand. They will say something (and I think, rightfully so) if you or your children are sitting down. It's all about respect.
