Mount Watatic, Ashburnham

One of my favorite easy day hikes. Assume 45 minutes to the top for an average hiker, maybe more if you're bringing the kids. There are a couple paths up and down, the path the signs point to is longer but easier, lots of switchbacks. The climb straight up the washout (go straight at the sign that says to go right to the summit, and follow the Mid State/Wapack signs) is a little more taxing but shorter and less traveled. The view is always worth it. Parking is tight in the pandemic-world, all of the street is now marked no parking and the parking area is limited to about 15 cars, but you can park across the street. Highly recommended as a family day hike, bring water and lunch and the kids and a dog and have a wonderful afternoon.

A decent hike with rewarding views once you reach the various summits. Since there are a lot of different scenic points, your trip can be flexible to go only a shorter time or go all the way to as far as the path goes. Each summit has a point of interest of its own, so there's something to see and look forward to.
