This is the most beautiful hike in the Ashland area! We drove halfway up from the ski lodge, then walked the final 2 miles. The mountain is made of granite, and the views of Mt Shasta from the Summit.... more

Beautiful views all around. Took the walk straight up the ski area, not many switch backs. Walked back along the service road to make a nice 4-5 mile loop. I don't like the fact that there is a road to the top and all the equipment up there. I prefer hiking to get away from things like that. Nice restrooms provided by the ski area at the base. Smoke had an impact on our views and lungs but still so worth it!
