The Atlanta First United Methodist Church has existed for more than 160 years and is one of the oldest churches in Atlanta. The current building was constructed in 1903, and the current name was adopted in 1968. The same bell has been used in three buildings since 1850, and it is the only church bell in Atlanta that is known to have survived the American Civil War. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

    This local place of worship that I have passed by time and time again for the past 20 + years was very kind in opening up their doors for people to use their facilities after the Dragon Con parade. They have a beautiful sanctuary

    I attended an organ recital here and reveled in the beauty of the music and the building. The staff is friendly and it's well kept. The church is easily reached from the civic center MARTA station and there is limited parking. There is a wheelchair accessible entry on the southern side of the building.
