"Tommy," as he was known as a boy, spent the formative years of his childhood in Augusta, years that would affect him for the rest of his life. While living in Augusta Wilson experienced the hardships of the Civil War and Reconstruction. He also began his education, tasted leadership as president of the Lightfoot Baseball Club, and grounded his deep Presbyterian faith.

  • We really enjoyed our tour. It is very inexpensive and it takes roughly an hour to see everything. They offer a guided tour of the house. $5 per adult, $3 for students/school aged children, and children under 5 are free. It was completely worth it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I learned a lot about Woodrow Wilson, his family, and the time period in which they lived. Overall a great experience for our family.
  • The tour was very important event and we learned a lot. The price was incredibly reasonable and we got more than our money's worth. It was so fascinating to hear the history about the house as well as the life of our former President Woodrow Wilson. It is well worth a visit especially if you have young kids or children who are in school and learning about the presidents.
