Cathedral State Park reviews
Beautiful giant hemlocks and many hiking trails. This is not a large park--basically just hiking and restrooms and a park office. Great experience. more »
Very peaceful journey back in time. This is an old growth forest not found anywhere else in the East. Hard to believe this was the way it was many years ago. Nicely preserved by the state park... more »
I just love this state park. It's so beautiful and relaxing. There are a few different trails to choose from to experience the warmth of WV nature. I always see wild life on my walks, like deer, fish and chipmunks. There's a lot of various flora to appreciate, especially the hemlock. There are places to have a picnic, restrooms and playground. Also Melanie's is across the road if you want something good to eat, just bring cash.
A park off the beaten path with a virgin tall hemlock forest, one of only a few places in WV where the forest was not logged at some point. Well maintained and marked trails, easy walks. Very relaxing.
