  • We came to Captree for a fishing trip. The boat basin looks the same as it did years ago. Docks were very well maintained. Only con was the $8 parking fee. It should be validated if you take a trip...

  • I walked around early in the morning. Nice scenery in the Great South Bay. I've always loved the party boats for fishing. Definitely a blast from the past.

  • Great spot for crabbing but there's a ton of seaweed in the water. Crabs love hiding in the seaweed and there's even blue crab you can catch there. Not really a great place for fishing but definitely better than the Jones Beach area. Parking was not a problem since I went there in the afternoon. Still, it was rather busy with a lot of people coming for fishing/crabbing or dining in at the nearby restaurant.
  • Update - April 2022 Not much going on now...getting ready for the upcoming season. This park is wonderful, but do not go expecting a beach. This is a park known for fishing, piers and a small playground. There was a restaurant that at the time I am writing this...is being renovated. The bait shop is small and limited in what they cary. Sunsets here are spectacular and there are numerous party boats to fish from. Go, relax, enjoy.
