Stand at Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint to admire the sights of the coast and the facial features on the massive rock protruding from the sea. From the viewpoint, look for the rock's profile as it seemingly gazes skyward. Take the stairs down to the clean beach for more views and rock pools to explore at low tide, but wear shoes with good tread in case of slippery areas. During your visit, keep in mind the Native American legend about the site, which tells of a woman's voice in the wind. Picnic tables and restrooms are available on site. • Face rock is the most bizarre and incredible rock formation I’ve seen on the Oregon coast. This viewpoint is sweeping and breathtaking. There are pit toilet bathrooms which are accessible. The parking is small and can fill up. There’s a trail down the bluff to the beach below. It’s steep but not unmanageable. One down on the sand, you can walk in both directions right along the rock formations. Sometimes the wind can make the blowing sand miserable. Still, this is a must see place on the Oregon coast.
  • A fantastic little spot! The views were incredible, the beach access was easy to navigate and it was very clean. We especially loved seeing the rainbow colored rocks and will research more on the geology.
