Bar Harbor Ghost Tours reviews
Definitely on the top of ghost tours to do. I never knew how active an area Bar Harbor is. I would definitely do this tour again when covid is over to be able to see inside the theater. It was the.... more »
We had such a great time on our Ghost Tour! The tour guide was fantastic and we were definitely frightened in a good way. It was a fun way to see different parts of Bar Harbor and learn more about..... more »
I adore ghost tours, for multiple reasons. First off, I do not believe in ghosts (I it’s simply my opinion, so let’s just move on and not argue about it) but I always love a good walking ghost tour for multiple reasons. Oe, you get to walk around a new city and see places you otherwise might not. Two, you get to hear some good stories- whether or not there are ghosts as a result (spoiler, there aren’t) you are still getting historical information- who lived and died where, what happened, what led up to the death, etc. Third, you get to interact with other travelers on the tour and a local who is leading the tour. The guide had a great costume on, and was very informative. We actually tried to go twice- the first time, it started to rain before the tour started. We tried to tough it out, but it was POURING about 20 minutes into the tour. We had a baby in a stroller- a not-waterproof stroller I might ad, and our guide was sweet enough to offer us to reschedule, since it was clearly not letting up, and it was a bit hard. We left and returned the next evening. We started on a different route the following day, and saw the interior of the old theater, walked to the waterfront, saw an old graveyard and church, and an old mansion. The stories were captivating and I loved hearing about the history of the town. The guide clearly loved Br Harbor and had done a lot of reading and research, and was well versed in the tales she was telling. After we spoke to our guide and heard about her life, her studies, etc- my favorite part. Not wanting to take up too much of her time, we left for our yurt, but I will always remember the tales of that evening and the sights we took in. I recommend this- especially for people who want to explore but are timid to go on their own, and who want a slower paced walking tour.
