When we looked the country over for a solitary terroir that featured the grain and water to make a unique expression of bourbon and rye we kept coming back to the Driftless Area. The region was bypassed by the most recent glacial movement leaving a special and fertile environment all its own. We are surrounded by glens, rocky outcrops and clear cold water trout streams. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Driftless Glen Distillery and many more Baraboo attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Baraboo vacation planner.
Our edge of the Driftless Area is known as Sand County, an area that is unique in all the world. We didn't choose our home for the distillery, rather we discovered an area that has an amazing aquifer, peat bogs, and uncommon sandy soil for our grains to grow in and made it our home.
The combination of temperature, water, soil, weather all combine to form our unique terroir.
The result is spirits as unique as those who enjoy them.
Come visit us along the banks of the Baraboo River, the longest mainstream restored free flowing river in America. Our tours will take you through every inch of our production area, from our grains and mash, to our fermentation tanks and process, stills … all ending with a leisurely tasting of spirits. If you choose, you can also sample our array of olive oils and balsamic vinegars.
Our tours were recently reviewed as “an amazing and entertaining tour.” Let us introduce you to our double distillation process starting with our 10,000 pound 44 foot tall column still and ended with our pot still. They work together to produce a one of a kind spirit.
A distillery near the popular Wisconsin Dells? You have found it at Driftless Glen.

Great place and service. Loved Maxim, he made my mom's birthday very special. We were served by another bartender who was amazing as well but not sure her name unfortunately. We will be back to visit.... more »
The staff is extremely helpful and polite. The mixed drinks are very fun and different I’ve tried quite a few of them and have enjoyed all of them. I went and had the salmon last night for supper... more »
Great place! Their spirits are really really good! Had to buy couple of bottles! Our tour guide Robert was very knowledgeable. Great Food . It is surprising what Chef David can do with his crew in this tiny "closet" size kitchen. Dishes are fresh, delicious, nice portions and price just right for the quality you get. When in the area will stop in again.
Enjoyed the view and the options for wine tasting. A lot of old fashioned options. Definitely recommend the view by the river if you are going. The places is usually packed during the summers. You can try reserving a seat if possible. Place was impeccable and staff very friendly and courteous. Very nice atmosphere, definitely try out if you are in the area..
