Burden Museum & Gardens, Baton Rouge

To say that I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, I've never been to this place until last Friday because my nephew had a field trip with his school there. I really didn't get to see all of it, but what I see was very nice. The corn maze was a bit small, I have been to larger ones, but it was nice for the area. I didn't know there was a petting zoo.

We were looking for a morning activity while in town and the Gardens exceeded our expectations. The Black Swamp Trail was a highlight of our walk. Educational signage provides insight to the plants and ecology. Saw spiders, insects, anurans, birds, as well as heard many sounds of nature, even over the hum of nearby I-10. Volunteer in the visitor center was friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. Next time we will visit the museum.
