This urban trail follows an old railway corridor and connects the City of Bayfield’s historic downtown area to Pikes Bay Marina and Port Superior located in the Town of Bayfield.

Frequently used by school children, area residents, and tourists, the trail provides a scenic recreation opportunity for hikers, joggers, cyclists, while providing a means for commuting to and from the city on foot.

One of the many remarkable aspects of the Brownstone Trail is that it exists out of the generosity of 22 private landowners who permit the public to walk across their land and have granted permanent trail easements to the Bayfield Regional Conservancy.

    Very nice walking trail. Short portion of road is closed and must use Hwy 13, but it is not too bad. Trail is still is very pretty.  more »

    We LOVE this trail, but heard that there is a big expensive study that is keeping this from getting fixed. Certainly hope the politics of this gets worked out soon.  more »
