  • We stayed in Cabin #9, 2 bedroom (1 queen, 1 bunk beds), full bath, full kitchen. Bathroom, bedroom and kitchen linens are NOT provided, you must bring your own. Wood fireplace has a so-so draft...

  • This park was beautiful, quiet, clean and had amazing views with great hikes. The trails vary in level depending on what you are looking for. There are spaces to hike, bird watch or sit by the water. There are great bathrooms for public use. RV and tent camping, though the tent sites are not drive up sites. Fire wood is available to buy. You are nestled near the Shenandoah Mountains and could easily drive a little down the road to hike some famous trails or view some scenic outposts.
  • We visited 2 sections: the canoe launch area (with picnic tables and pavillions), and the overlook. The picnic area has several tables, the metal grills if you want to BBQ, and an indoor area with multi-stall men's & women's bathrooms. There's also a stepped access point to walk down to the river's edge, which was nice. (It should be noted that there are signs up warning you about food storage due to potential for bears) The overlook is what it sounds like, and it absolutely delivers an incredible view (my pics don't begin to do it justice--and we were there RIGHT at sunset. Gorgeous). Both areas give you a beautiful view of the river. We plan to return VERY soon.
