Originally opened as a five-and-dime store in 1950 by Sam Walton, the building now houses a museum featuring exhibits and a reconstruction of the original dime store which boasts original floor tiles, a tin ceiling, and supplies that the shop would have sold. • Walmart is a brand you commonly see all over America, but I didn't know the details this museum offered. As you might expect, the exhibits are glowing and celebratory of their founder Sam Walton...

  • Wonderful tour of a great man and an incredible corporation. We were blown away with all the artifacts. Need to put this on your list of places to see in Bentonville.

  • Great timeline of Sam Walton and the raise of Wal-Mart. Very limited items to view but neat to see the items they did have, including old store ads. My favorite item was Sam’s red Ford 150 along with his handy shotgun. This is not a big museum and you can cover all the rooms one to two hours. They have a nice ice cream shop to enjoy when you finish. It was a good time!
  • Went there over Spring break! Absolutely enjoyed their hospitality! The front check in lady and guy were awesome! And the museum was definitely worth visiting! I felt so inspired to follow my dreams like Sam Walton!
