All of the work at Weston Studio Glass is made by artist Michelle Weston. Michelle was born in New Zealand and immigrated to the United States with her family as a child. Most of her childhood was spent outdoors, sketching and then painting the natural environment. By college she focused on paintings of rivers and streams. At Hastings College in Hastings,Nebraska Michelle was introduced to the craft of glassblowing. For Michelle the attraction to glass as a medium was immediate both in the physical nature of the process and the properties of glass itself. It was a natural progression to move from looking at the interaction of light and water to interpreting it thru the translucency and transparency of layers of glass. After graduation Michelle went on to a Masters of Fine Art at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The expertise is visible in the items and in her countenance. What a treat to take a class from this lady. Certainly a great memory and a check off the bucket list for me. Just do it.

We as a family took a glass blowing class. It was a WONDERFUL experience. She was a great teacher that not only communicated/ taught very well but you can really see her passion and love of her craft.

Michelle has a gift, not only for glass, but teaching. She was the perfect balance of letting us be involved every step of the way and hopping in to keep us from making a disaster. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!
