Miner's Park, Big Stone Gap

The pandemic has changed the meaning of "normal" (whatever that is) but that doesn't mean we can't go places and have some fun. This cute little park is situated smack-dab in the middle of town. A lot of Big Stone Gap's social events originate from here such as parades, bake sales and our artisan's creations sales. It is in easy walking distance to: our outdoor drama which is, The Trail of the Lonesome Pine; our town's: ... clothes shops; a bicycle/canoe shop; restaurants; barbershops; beauty salons; a coffee/spa boutique; a unique bookstore; our Natural History Museum; a Miner's Museum; the local library; a scenic walking trail that goes around most of the town; Bullet Park with a fun children's section; several small fascinating antique shops; our Farmer's Market offering locally grown and freshly picked vegetables and fruits (Summer months and *one day a week only)..and there's more so come see for yourself. The people are warm, friendly mountain men and women. *There are more Farmer's Markets in other nearby towns which are open on days other than BSG's day.

I love this place! I also enjoyed the new sitting areas as well as The Coal Miner Statue. It's always beautiful at Christmas time too!!
