Known for its redwood groves and nicknamed the "Mini Yosemite," Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park stretches for about 400 hectares (1,000 acres) along the Big Sur River. A popular hiking and camping destination, the park sits on the western slopes of the Santa Lucia Mountains, an area covered not only in old redwoods, but also oaks, sycamores, cottonwoods, maples, willows, and alders.   • Stunningly beautiful but so windy sand pelted skin! There's a narrow road in but cars were courteous to pull aside for passing. There's a $12 parking fee and the lot is small. It was a beautiful...  more »
  • Very nice state park with so much to see and do. Great sea views and wonderful forest trails. We did the Buzzards Roost trail which was very nice. Unfortunately its not well signed until you get.....  more »
