Railroad Park is a 19-acre park in Birmingham, Alabama, that opened in the fall of 2010. It was designed by landscape architect Tom Leader and built by Birmingham-based Brasfield & Gorrie. The park lies immediately south of the Norfolk Southern and CSX rail lines through downtown Birmingham. It stretches from 14th Street to 18th Street along First Avenue South. UAB Hospital and Children's Hospital of Alabama are several blocks south of the park. The park is a public facility owned by the City of Birmingham and managed by the non-profit Railroad Park Foundation.
Long term plans call for Railroad Park to anchor a greenway running through downtown Birmingham stretching from Railroad Park to Sloss Furnaces.

  • Absolutely loved my walk around the path. So much scenery, very very well kept up and maintained to such a high standard. Everything was so serene and beautiful! Perhaps my last visit was a much needed escape, having me time.. meditation. As do they have venues and concerts at this location. I had an awesome time and no hassles start to finish. From parking, feeling safe, to just enjoying myself - thus getting to focus on different aspects of detail with my time there!
  • That Zumba class kicked my butt! But-- it was super fun! The park offers a great walking path, an excellent scenic city-view, photography escapes, a playground for the kiddos, and it hosts some of the best events that the city of Birmingham has to offer. If you haven't already, subscribe to the Railroad Park Foundation mailing list to stay connected. My entire family loves this place!
