The South Carolina Cotton Museum, Bishopville

Quite an education. The owner (who has had a career in the cotton industry) knows so much and shares his knowledge in an interesting and entertaining way. There's a veteran's museum in it's own section of the building and it's quite impressive too; it also regularly serves veterans as their meeting hall. There's a gift shop too. Many schools and other groups, young and old, come here on field trips & adventures. It's free admission although there are little donation boxes to contribute whatever you're able. Go and check it out!

We had our Office Christmas party here and it was really nice. There is so much to see at this museum. I've been here before with my 4-H cultural Summit and we enjoy the place. We got to see how a cotton starts from a seed. We got to see all the different military uniforms that have been worn and donated by members of the community. And don't forget to stop by the gift shop. They have nice gifts in there and memorabilia. Wonderful place.
