  • The hike is a beautiful hike, and BLM has done a great job making the experience ad good as it can be with several trail markers on the way, a chain link fence at the viewing area, and even the sign placed to provide more info on the ruins. We saw only one couple, and that was in the parking lot - they were leaving as we were arriving. The best time to capture photos of these ruins is in the early morning hours. Any later and the shadows really do make it difficult to photograph, let alone see from the viewing deck. The viewing deck is on the opposite side of the canyon, so it did make it even harder to view and enjoy the ruins. We didn't need to climb inside, but it would have been more impacting for us to be just a bit closer. Bring binoculars.
  • Contrary to Google Maps recent status - this area is not closed. At least as of 3/13/22. Very cool ruins and arch above! Fun to crawl around in the pools above the arch.
