Right through Downtown Bloomington. Plenty of shops, restaurants, etc. Farmers market was also going on. South end has the new Switch Yard Park - very cool. North end is shorter, but very quiet

Enjoyed a nice stroll along the trail through downtown Bloomington and the north side of town. The trail wandered through some beautiful sculptures, murals, and art work

A top safe clean trail to bike, skate, walk or jog. If you are into trails and are visiting Bloomington is right next to the Hyatt Place. The early part of the trail is paved as it goes through downtown and going south you pass some cool colorful homes and cross a bridge and into a nice new park (Switchyard park) to finally connect to a beautiful older compacted gravel trail through the woods. The trail also suppose to go further north but I did not explore that part. You can walk one hour south from the Hyatt Place and still not reach the end of the trail. There are just a few intersections where you have to worry about traffic (be aware some dummies don't understand that they are supposed to stop when someone is crossing the clearly marked zebra, so be careful when you cross). Lots of people so pretty is safe (specially the paved areas which is busier before the trail goes into the woods) during the day hours. I even saw security in a special cart come by a number of times, but not sure if they go pass the paved area and into the woods part of the trail, but don't worry the safe (paved) part of the trail is long enough if you start around the hotel. If coming from elsewhere there a big parking area by the kid playground at Switchyard park where you can park your vehicle. It is a very nice trail.
