As connoisseurs of scenic railways, my family and I were looking forward to experiencing the BRSR. Many other railroads are an hour round trip, but this was an hour to McCaysville/Copper Basin, a... more »
Wonderful way to spend a day. The staff were amazing. They were kind, professional, funny and genuinely happy to see you. They were very knowledgeable of the rich history of the Railroad and surrounding areas. They have open train card and closed train cars (the open car is the way to see this beautiful scenic area if it's not raining). There is a concession snack train car which sells goodies. There is a great photographer on board who takes your photo (which you can purchase in a memorable picture folder) and shopping in quaint towns. This is a activity to do. Loved the trip... This is a must do when you're in town especially if you have kids. We went in the wintertime and really enjoyed the hot cocoa. The staff was super friendly and interacted with everyone in the car which really created a very friendly atmosphere. We will definitely do this again next time we are in the area.
