  • This is a must see if you have time and willing to drive miles of curved highway (no open in the winter). Wasn't the clearest weather, but was able to see most the mountains around. Bring a lunch...

  • Wanna see a lava tower with views of the surrounding mountains? Want to peruse the summit of McKenzie Pass? Look no further! This is such a unique historical and geological site. Absolutely worth a stop on your way to more great trails. Note: it seems to be regularly raining here, even though it’s summer, so bring a rain jacket! The clouds add to the cool, mysterious feeling at the lookout.
  • Pretty unique place, have windows to the mountains. It has small windows on all directions and you can see certain mountain peaks from those windows. It has almost a mile long we’ll paved me wheel chair access trail. I can’t imagine how they might have built it in lava rocks, the observatory it self built from lava rocks
