A biblical timeline fits better if you do the math. The cave can't be120 million years old with the Stalagmites and stalactites growing at a rate of 1 inch per 20 years. The cave would've been sealed.... more

This is a great little attraction outside San Antonio. The gift shop has neat little souvenirs as well as a small little museum to entertain you as you wait for your tour to begin. The tour itself is a lot of fun. My guide was Stingray and he was a delightful guide full of facts and charm. The cave was breathe taking with all its natural structures and critters that live down there. Definitely worth the visit.
This was a real highlight of our visit to Texas. The store is absolutely delightful. The cavern tour is well worth the cost, about $20 per person and lasts about an hour. Our tour guide was Stingray and he was very knowledgeable with the perfect blend of facts, fun, and safety. This cavern is fascinating and really active. It is a lot of steps and it is wet, potentially slippery for some. Very doable for the average person. My husband, me, and our 2 daughters (23 & 18 years old) just loved it and also loved that it didn't feel commercialized like other similar places.
