Julia Davis Park is a municipal park in the downtown region of Boise, Idaho. Created in 1907 with a land donation from Thomas Jefferson Davis, it is the first park in the "String of Pearls", the group of parks operated by the Boise Parks and Recreation Department that are located along the Boise River. Being centrally located in Boise, the park contains several prominent sites, including museums such as the Boise Art Museum, the Idaho Historical Museum, and the Idaho Black History Museum, as well as other attractions like Zoo Boise, the Idaho Rose Society, and the Gene Harris Band Shell. The Boise River Greenbelt runs through the park, which is bordered by Broadway Avenue to the east, Capital Boulevard to the west, the Boise River to the south, and Myrtle Street to the north. Other amenities at Julia Davis Park include river access, statues, a rose garden, a playground and tennis court, a pond with paddle boat rentals, and a pedestrian bridge that connects the park with Boise State University. To visit Zoo Boise and get the most from your holiday in Boise, create itinerary details personal to you using our Boise travel itinerary planner.
Zoo Boise Reviews
This zoo is always a hoot! My esteemed spouse And I spent the loveliest afternoon there. It’s a small zoo, a pocket zoo if you will, but it has a little bit of everything for everyone! The animals... more »
As the only zoo for a thousand miles or so, Boise zoo is home to many children in the State of Idaho and and other states near by. I love taking my grandsons here so they can run wild and learn more.... more »
I was so impressed with the changes that Zoo Boise made! It seems so much more open, the animals seem like they are more relaxed and have more room. The new additions are wonderful. We went on discount Thursday and had a blast. So glad we have somewhere to take the kids that can teach the kids while having fun. Good job, Zoo Boise!
Our experience at the Boise zoo was outstanding!! My 3 boys are very energetic and in a constant state of motion, they need something fun that can keep up with their busy little lifestyles. The zoo had so much to offer that even as my little ones ran around as much as they could there was always something to captivate their attention or even help them pause and reflect. There are learning experiences and hands on exhibits for busy little fingers. And new and exciting opportunities galore😁 There is even a sweet little carousel with all kinds of animals to ride on. My children got to pet and feed a llama, goats and sheep for the first time. The animals were very gentle and mild tempered. Although the weather was a bit wet it didn't bother us in the slightest. There were both indoor and outdoor things to do. We got our faces painted and had a popcorn snack. We saw giraffes, bats and even a big lion very closely. There were a lot of up and coming exhibits so we can't wait to go again and meet the new animals and experience the fun all over again. I do hope you go on a fantastic zoo adventure for yourself 😊
