With its roots dating back to 1635, Boston Latin School is a six-year college preparatory school which provides a rigorous academic program in the classical tradition and which fosters the pursuit of excellence. Latin School serves an economically and culturally diverse population of students in grades 7 to 12.

The Boston Latin School Association (BLSA), formed in 1844 to raise funds for the school library, continues nearly 170 years later as the connection between the alumni and the school, while also supporting the students and faculty of today through its fund-raising efforts.

The philanthropy of BLS alumni, families and friends makes all the difference each year, providing invaluable support for the school’s most important priorities as well as activities that reaffirm the lifelong connection of our alumni. Contributions to the BLSA are tax deductible to the full extent of the law and will be acknowledged promptly in writing.

  • It was the first public school in Boston, completely free. Only for boy until 1972. His students include Franklin. A mosaic reminds the place where the school was.

  • This is a school for the emotionless and robotic. I recommend that someone who is prepared to go through trauma go to this school. Benjamin Franklin, one of the most famous students dropped out for a reason. Their educational philosophy, if they have one is: "It was good enough for your grandfather, so shut up." Their orchestra program is the only good thing about the school.
  • When I get married and have kids, I will sure send them to study at this school. Knowledge of the Classics and Hebrew spirituality are the backbones to have a virtuous life and mind !
