Harpoon Brewery & Beer Hall, Boston

See how one of Boston's favorite beer makers, Harpoon Brewery & Beer Hall, makes its suds, and sample some of the final products when your tour finishes. If you're less interested in the brewing process, head straight for the long, wooden tables in the beer hall and order a draught and freshly baked pretzel while you take in views of the city. Tours sell out quickly, but tickets are only available for sale on the day of the tour itself, so arrive early to buy tickets for the tour time of your preference. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Boston holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Harpoon Brewery & Beer Hall and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • This is an interesting place to go get a tasting of some of the local brews. I did not take the tour but I did take a tasting flight which was good. No real meals available.  more »
  • This place was very big and very crowded. Took forever to get a beer even thou it seemed to be well staffed. I prefer a flight and just asked for the more popular beers as it was too hard to hear. Sta...  more »

  • Whenever I go to Boston I always stop off at Harpoon for a pretzel and a flight. It’s by far the best pretzel I have ever had and the beer cheese is really good. The beer is great. Last time I was there it was a little challenging to get a seat at the bar, but usually plenty of seating even when it gets pretty crowded. Harpoon is also a half a block or so from Yankee Seafood, which so far is the best place I have found to get a lobster roll. Don’t believe me? Legal and Legal test kitchen are both nearby walking distance as well and you can test for yourself. Plenty of parking in easy walking distance of Harpoon (and Yankee) at a public garage just past Harpoon. The garage parking is pretty expensive. Only reason I don’t go five stars is the Harpoon flights are fixed, not build your own. For someone like me who likes particular types of beer it’s mildly disappointing, but the upside is it forces you to broaden your palate and I haven’t had a bad beer at Harpoon yet.
  • Came here on a Friday night with my friend and we loved the laid-back, fun atmosphere with people playing board games and chatting at long tables or at the bar. We shared a specialty beer flight just to try a few different beers, shared a pretzel with cheese sauce (so good!), and got some cider. This would definitely be a great place to visit if you're from out of town and just in the area or to hang out with friends on the weekend!
