#123 of 357 in Museums in Pennsylvania
The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles houses dozens of automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles that were manufactured right here in Pennsylvania while the industry was still in its infancy. Prior to that time, the region produced multitudes of horse-drawn vehicles, of which many examples can be found at the Museum.

The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles was established in 1965 by Paul and Erminie Hafer. Paul Hafer had a 57-year career of designing and building truck bodies at the Boyertown Auto Body Works, which was co-founded by his father B. Frank Hafer. He served for 21 years as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles. Erminie Hafer’s book, A Century of Vehicle Craftsmanship, is a thorough history on the transportation industry in Southeastern Pennsylvania and is for sale in the Museum gift shop.

  • A wonderful and fascinating collection of old cars, trucks, and more. Even if you’re not into old vehicles you will enjoy this nostalgic place. Kudos to all those volunteers who make this place work.  more »
  • we enjoyed seeing all the old vehicles and talking to the employees. They told us alot about the different cars we saw, history & facts. I loves the old Diner, too bad it wasn't open for business.  more »

  • An amazing collection of a variety of motor vehicles, most of them in pristine/restored condition. We've already recommended friends visit here when they are in the area for the annual antique auto show in Hershey. My favorite was what looked like a UPS truck but was outfitted to be a family camper! We were really surprised to see how many of the vehicles or their parts were made in Pennsylvania.
  • We visited on Saturday, it was a very nice museum and the kids loved it especially sitting in the diner on a stool watching the video of how it was moved or sitting in the booths together. Some other highlights were them seeing the old pa license plates, trying to ride the bicycle, watching the blacksmith's upstairs making things, and of course all of the fantastic old cars. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
