Our HistoryAdd Montana Science Center to your Bozeman travel itinerary, and discover new vacation ideas by using our Bozeman trip itinerary site.
The Montana Science Center was founded in 2001 by city residents, who recognized that enriching, experiential learning opportunities are central to the education and growth of all children. What began as a handful of exhibits presented at parades, farmers markets and community events around Bozeman has since grown into one of the city’s main museum attractions.
Today, the MSC is headquartered in a 4,000 square foot facility on South Willson Avenue, and offers hands-on exhibits, summer science camps, after-school activities, and educational programming throughout the year. MSC’s powerful interactive exhibits and educational programs reflect the rich variety of Montana’s people, and are designed to lead parents and caregivers through the maze of challenges they face as they work to raise curious, imaginative and self-confident children.

We have an ASTC museum membership that allows us to visit science and children's museums for free when we travel, so we stopped here on our trip, thinking it was just a place to get out of the car...

I took my almost 2 year old here on a very hot day and he loved it! It was a great time for him. Lots of physics learning that was play based. And very reasonably priced.

The boys loved the science center. It’s a small area but it does have a lot of activities. Building blocks, books, animal displays and a lot of hands of things to do. There are also come classes that they can participate in - even if you do not sign up in advance.

We’ve taken our four kids (three girls, one boy 12 and below) to Science Centers all over the US - many way way bigger. While small, this place awesome and jam packed with interesting things to do and is by far one of our favorites. My daughter got to do some of the “maker” things upstairs and created her own laser-cut 3d trinket box with her own designs on it - super easy and no extra cost. The guy upstairs in the maker area (and the rest of the staff) was super friendly. Great place - would go back several times if we could but we were just passing through. Totally five stars especially if your kids are interested in science and STEM areas.
