Create an itinerary including Bishop Museum Of Science And Nature
Immerse yourself in the history of the state's Gulf Coast at Bishop Museum Of Science And Nature, where the story of the shoreline comes to life through artifacts, the stars, and the water. The planetarium reveals the story of the stars, and the aquarium tells the story of the waters with living displays. The latter houses a manatee habitat with viewing windows and a manatee rescue and rehabilitation center. The building and grounds combine three attractions, so consider a rest in the Spanish Plaza--an internal courtyard--in between sites to maintain your stamina. • We went to Museum . We saw two show in the planetarium. It is worth, go check them out. Second floor is great for history buff. The highlight for us was the three manatees, very active.

  • It's a lovely museum with a plantetarium show (included in admission) and live adolescent manatees. Lots of interesting displays, clocks, shells, American Indian panaromas, and a science room. I'd...

  • You can't tell from the outside how big and impressive this museum is. The children walked way too fast for the adults who wanted to linger at displays and read about the history. The kids spent the most time with the manatees and looking at the semiprecious stones. The planetarium was impressive but I left dizzy so I'm limited to only one of the four daily shows. There was plenty of room when we went and all seats appear to be equally good. The kids loved the Mosaic Backyard playroom and fussed when it was time to leave. You could relax with a book while they play. I want to study up on Florida history and then go back by myself so I can walk at my own pace.
  • We met a couple of friends and toured most of the museum. Great exhibits at every turn. We were also able to observe the manatees on both levels, and watch all three shows in the planetarium. The entire museum was very very nice as was the staff. So glad we made the two hour trek from Naples to visit the museum. It was a great way to spend the day.
