  • The history of Barney Ford, in Breckenridge and Colorado, is fascinating. The museum is right across the street from the Breckenridge Welcome Center, just off Main Street, so very easy to access. The "museum" is actually Barney Ford original house filled with many artifacts of that time.
  • Barney Ford is a remarkable character with a rich life story. We can learn a lot from him, such as the importance of a reading, education, and making the most of your situation from birth until death. Our town is filled with million dollar homes, but at one point Barney Ford had the fanciest house in town. Go check out what that looked like. Then we can more easily appreciate the quality of life enjoyed on minimum wage. We might not choose Victorian couches and doilies for decoration, but we have all the amenities and more. Yet Mr Ford worked so hard and intelligently for his outfitting and also for the rights of people of color. All colors! Thanks for being make Colorado Colorful, Barney.
