Historical Boreas Pass Road provides unmatched views of Colorado's rugged Rocky Mountains. Walk, drive, or hike the 10.6 km (6.6 mi) pass to discover far-reaching views of the Blue Valley and Tenmile Range. The pass, which sits at an elevation of 3,499 m (11,481 ft), served as an early route for thousands of prospectors during the Colorado Gold Rush, and served as a railway bed from the late 1800s until 1937.   • Went to Boreas Pass and the views are beautiful but BEWARE the road is really scary and bumpy with lots of pot holes. It was also icy in spots when we were there last week. The worst part is when you....  more »
  • Enough said, you just have to experience it for yourself. It's a bit bumpy, so the 4WD jeep was nice, but not absolutely necessary.  more »
