Part of the Gateway NRA. Old military base along wild undeveloped beach. Can walk from / to Riis Beach for grub and more civilian fare. Nature is allowed to reclaim most areas. Some trails to bunkers and hidden installations. No life guards. Fishing with permits. Ball fields and picnic areas. No concessions. Artist alliance theater and gallery/studio.
It's a great public beach. No city rules but swim at your own risk. Great place to drink with no police interference
