Theater · Concert / Show
A treasured family tradition in the greater Seattle arts community since 1923, The Mountaineers Players continues to bring Puget Sound audiences quality outdoor theater under the conifer canopy of its Kitsap Forest Theater every spring and summer. One of the oldest nonprofit theater groups in the country, the Players troupe performs on the 460-acre Rhododendron Preserve near Bremerton. Giant fir trees surround terraced seating—carved from the side of a natural amphitheater— while verdant ferns serve as the “footlights” for the performance stage.

  • Such a fun family experience! Unique setting for entertaining live theater. You'll have to make a day of it if your commute involves the ferry, but it's completely worth it. You have to hike down into the theatre (there is a transport option for those who are concerned about the trail or have access limitations), and they set up fun vignettes of show information and themed decor as you walk the paths. Cushions are available to rent, but a limited number, so consider bringing your own blankets or cushions to sit on. Performance goes on rain or shine, so plan accordingly!
  • Nice hidden little gem with a pretty trail crossing Wildcat Creek and leading to a massive tree.
