Originally opened as a family "picnic" park, Lake Compounce today features three roller coaster rides and more than 40 attractions. Welcoming families since 1846, it lays claim to being the oldest continuously-operating amusement park in the United States. Make sure to check out Boulder Dash, the popular wooden coaster built into the side of a mountain. Try out the slides, the wave pool, and the lazy river of Connecticut’s largest water park for no extra charge. Refresh on the go, or rent a cabana and relax on the lounge chairs. Note that the line lengths for the rides fluctuate depending on the number of campers in the area. A visit to Lake Compounce represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Bristol online trip itinerary planner to plot your vacation.

  • Overall great day. We got to the park just before opening and there were no lines. Park was well kept and clean. As the day went on , it got a bit busier and the bathrooms a little less clean. Lines for the rides were pretty quick. We came with teenagers and they had a good time. Nice section of rides for smaller kids. Park food was definitely pricey and quality wasn't the best, but I expect that from most amusement parks. I do wish they did not charge for parking. Overall great experience.
  • Very fun park, and a nice change from visiting a Six Flags. The food selection is decent, but the lines can be long. Ride lines don’t get too bad. Riding Boulder Dash is an absolute must do, that coaster makes the park. The park has a nice family atmosphere, and the water park is good.
