  • I did the Brooklyn Bike Tour with John. It was an amazing tour of Brooklyn neighborhoods, including DUMBO, Fort Greene, Downtown, GOWANUS, Boerum Hill, Park Slope, Prospect Park, Red Hook, Cobble Hill...  more »
  • First, you still have to be in shape to do this tour as you will cycle between 35 and 40 km between 11:00 and 5:30 p.m. Bikes: Very good comfortable bikes. It was perfect on this side. Starting location: A bit weird (it's a warehouse) but it's pretty close to the Manhattan bridge. We went there by Uber without any problems. Our guide: Super friendly Brian. He gave us a lot of information about the different neighborhoods of Brooklyn as well as its history. The tour is entirely in English. There is no French-speaking guide. Brian tends to ride a little fast on a bike but tell him and he'll slow down; or place the slowest right behind him and he will adjust to the speed of the group. Microbreweries: You will make 5 stops in total. The last one is necessarily 'Transmitter' because that's where you'll leave the bikes. The best breweries are 'The Other Half', 'Fifth Hammer' and 'Big Alice'. The other one we visited was 'Rockaway' and the beers were very ordinary. You can buy beers in order to bring them back for the end of the day but it is forbidden to order any consumption other than what is included for obvious safety reasons. Anyway, you won't run out of cash! There are other microbreweries in the area so feel free to ask your guide to change as it can change the route without problems (KCBC make great beer among others). The circuit is not cast in concrete. You'll have to start with Other Half because it's on the other side of town so you can cross several neighborhoods including Brooklyn Heights and Red Hook. You will arrive at the first brewery around noon. Then you go up the coast through Williamsburgh to Queens where most of the breweries are located. Depending on the speed of your group, your guide may suggest other stops. We stopped at a chocolate factory and distillery on the way. Brian also took us to a room where we can throw axes at targets (Bury the Hatchet). Very entertaining. There are food trucks all over your way and certainly in front of the most popular microbreweries. Food is not included in the price. In the end, it's definitely one of the best ways to visit the city. The bike paths are well marked and we never felt unsafe while driving. You could never have seen so much of Brooklyn on foot or by car/bus.

  • A fun experience and a great way to see Brooklyn. The guide was grest.
  • We had a great time with John doing the Brooklyn cycle tour. Just under 3 hours, the tour just gets better and better as it goes on. Would highly recommend it, mostly a flat cycle and John was very conscious of safety on the bikes in traffic. Bikes in great condition. John chatty and informative throughout. Chocolate and whiskey stops were great! Great experience overall - Would recommend if looking for something a little different.
