Grand Army Plaza, originally known as Prospect Park Plaza, is a public plaza that comprises the northern corner and the main entrance of Prospect Park in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It consists of concentric oval rings arranged as streets, with the namesake Plaza Street comprising the outer ring. The inner ring is arranged as an ovoid roadway that carries the main street – Flatbush Avenue – with eight radial roads connecting Vanderbilt Avenue; Butler Place; two separate sections of Saint John's Place; Lincoln Place; Eastern Parkway; Prospect Park West; Union Street; and Berkeley Place. The only streets that penetrate to the inner ring are Flatbush Avenue, Vanderbilt Avenue, Prospect Park West, Eastern Parkway, and Union Street.Use our Brooklyn trip itinerary builder app to visit Grand Army Plaza on your trip to Brooklyn, and learn what else travelers and our writers recommend seeing nearby.
The plaza includes the Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch; the Bailey Fountain; the John F. Kennedy Monument; statues of Civil War generals Gouverneur K. Warren and Henry Warner Slocum; busts of notable Brooklyn citizens Alexander Skene and Henry W. Maxwell; and two 12-sided gazebos with "granite Tuscan columns, Guastavino vaulting, and bronze finials".: 668

The Arch of Triumph, right here in Brooklyn! Commemorates the Civil War, of course. Lots of monuments to the Civil War here, so it must have been a big deal. This is an impressive entrance to...

This outstanding monument is extremely impressive and has such an amazing story and history about it. Well worth a visit to see it and then visit the magnificent Prospect park!

I took my future wife, on a movie night date. When we walked in the meadow from the grand army circle, it was perfect. The cool, breeze of the park, the walk down the steps that opened into the meadow, the stars in the summer night, the huge TV, the other viewers spread peacefully in the meadow. The energy of the vibes that night. PRICELESS. This is what you call, money can't buy this feeling, and the time I got to spend with my love one. Thank you prospect park, Grand Army Plaza, for this moment in my life you helped me experience with my love one.

Great place to relax in the summer. There is a fountain and a statue to take out pics. Nice restaurants are a few blocks away. If you need some quiet time in the park there is prospect park just a stones throw away
