Designed by the same landscape architects who created Central Park, Prospect Park is home to Brooklyn's only lake, which spans 24 hectares (60 acres) and is surrounded by woodlands, walking paths, and lawns. The park is full of memorials, including the Litchfield Villa and a statue of General Lafayette. Stop first at the Boathouse visitor center for information on park events and attractions. Rent a bicycle to tour the trails if you want to cover a large area in a shorter amount of time. With our online itinerary creator, Brooklyn attractions like Prospect Park can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

This has to be by far my of my favorite parks in Brooklyn. I’ve taken my bike around the park and it was really great. I’ve gone on long walks through the park, sun bathed in the summer, and I have always enjoyed the plaza north end of the park. I have never grilled there but I have seen many people celebrating and having a good time. There are lots of spots to explore and trails to walk. It never gets old!

Good Morning To All! I have been going here for many years since I was 15 and I still go. The park is wonderful \ beautiful in every way. Thank You Staff for keeping the park clean and the tree's health with a shine. The flowers\ ponds are lovely to sit by or touch. I really enjoy riding my bike there. Thank You!
