Designed by the same landscape architects who created Central Park, Prospect Park is home to Brooklyn's only lake, which spans 24 hectares (60 acres) and is surrounded by woodlands, walking paths, and lawns. The park is full of memorials, including the Litchfield Villa and a statue of General Lafayette. Stop first at the Boathouse visitor center for information on park events and attractions. Rent a bicycle to tour the trails if you want to cover a large area in a shorter amount of time. With our online itinerary creator, Brooklyn attractions like Prospect Park can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

Great place to walk your dog. My dog loves when we take random trails and explore. Smorgasburg is held every Sunday and it is amazing when you are hungover and still need to walk your pup. It has lovely spots to have a picnic at and it is awesome if you are a runner. Park is huge, so there are nice parts to it, but also seedier areas. Overall, it is a great park.
The park was very beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. Definitely a place I would recommend to friends with dogs, or if you’re looking for a nice run. Landscape could be better as the grass was untamed at some parts and the fountains with plants and flowers had many weeds and overrun with grass. The dog park was vivacious; a breath of fresh air to see all the happy dogs running around and swimming!
