World Woods Golf Club opened for play in 1991 and the two golf courses, Pine Barrens and Rolling Oaks, are distinctively different from each other. The Pine Barrens features rolling terrain with wide open fairways surrounded by vast sand waste bunkers. Pine Barrens is reminiscent of Pine Valley Golf Club located in New Jersey. The Rolling Oaks course, adjacent to Pine Barrens, is dotted with mature oak trees and a more traditional layout.
World Woods also sports a 22-acre, four-sided driving range, a 2.2-acre putting course, a nine-hole "short" executive course and a three-hole practice course. World Woods is a true golf course, with a minimalist clubhouse and snack bar with no on-site accommodations.
World Woods is owned by Interfive Florida Corporation based in Nagoya, Japan. Interfive also owns two neighboring courses, Southern Woods Golf Club and Sugarmill Woods Golf Club, both located in Homosassa, Florida.
World Woods Golf Club reviews
I was staying with family and just wanted a par-3 that i could play every day without wasting the entire day. What i found was THE BEST golf experience I have ever had. The par-3 may or may not be... more »
The course was meh for what is claimed. The course seemed like it’s passed its prime. Here is my take: Negatives: The clubhouse hasn’t been remodeled since 1999 i would assume. Smelled very musty. They take a leisurely approach towards their fairway to OB maintenance. The bunkers were all inconsistent and looked like a construction tractor raked them. The greens played like a concrete driveway rolling wherever they wanted. The grounds crew crowned a large percentage of the cups. The beverage cart did not have multiple beer selections or a credit card option. Positives: The course had some challenge based off their design and lack of maintenance. The staff for the most part was nice and welcoming. The course was dry compared to most Florida courses during August. Final thoughts: This course played out their prime. They need to invest in a lot of clean up and amenities for the price they charge. If you’re looking for a caddy shack experience this is your spot! This is a $35-$50 course all season.
Fun golf course with challenging holes. Greens in excellent condition. Could not believe size of facility. Practice range with multiple tees and multiple putting greens including a separate irons only range. Two 18 hole courses, a separate short course and practice holes. Carts and cart paths are somewhat in disrepair and clubhouse unremarkable for such a golf focused facility.
