Bruneau Dunes State Park reviews
The Glenn Ferry Park worker suggested we stop by the dunes. Very cool! It’s quite an experience to walk up a large pile of sand. more »
Staying in Boise for a few days, we decided to explore nearby attractions, and found Bruneau Dunes State Park an hour south of the city. Easy to get to, we took our picnic gear and stopped at a deli.... more »
Great campground with fairly level sights. Very open. The programs and staff were exceptional. We enjoyed the star gazing. The kids, all of us really, loved the nightly scorpion walk. We all found the birdwatching and pond water exploring programs to be educational and well done. Rangers Mike and Julia were fantastic. Kirk's star classes were funny and informative. The staff and the telescopes were awesome. We will be going back.
We didn't even go to the tallest dune but still had fun. They do have board rentals, but probably best to bring your own. They also have the helmets too. Wax for the boards. Do not go when it had rained a lot the day of or before, must be dry.
