The Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation was a plantation on the Altamaha River, in Glynn County, Georgia. It produced rice from 1800 until 1915, when growing rice became unprofitable. Then it was primarily a dairy farm until 1942.

  • A short drive off I95, and well worth the stop. It may not be your typical idea of a grand plantation. However, all the furnishings are standing exactly where they always stood. This is a time capsule of a bygone days, when rice was the top crop in the south.
  • To know this place is still standing after the Civil War is awesome! So much history preserved! Loved touring the house seeing the furniture all still in place, and walking the grounds. The view breathtaking!
