As part of the tour, you'll listen to a wrangler share the history and geology of the place as you pass tall, slender red, orange, and white sedimentary rocks called hoodoos, or fairy chimneys. Be advised that there is an age limit for the youngest riders, which is seven years old for the shorter trip and ten for the longer one. • Absolutely the BEST way to experience Bryce Canyon. Guides are excellent, horses are sure footed. I would do this again in a heartbeat - HIGHLY recommend. As a side note, three hours in the...  more »
  • This was a lot of fun. Beautiful ride. You don’t need to have any horse riding experience. The horses know the way. Appreciate the work the horses do going up and down the hills as we also hiked...  more »

  • We enjoyed our 3-hour tour through Bryce Canyon. Special thanks to Sparky (our guide) who always had a nice joke on the lips while explaining the specialties of the canyon formations. You need to be okay with trusting your animal completely, as they tend to walk close to the edge (Sparky said they might like it because the edge is softer to walk on). All over a nice trip even the guys enjoyed!
  • Seeing Bryce Canyons from the rim is spectacular. Walking down the trails is fun. But going on this three hour horse ride down to the bottom of the canyons is a special experience. You will walk sore for the rest of the day, but it is a great way to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the canyons. Excellent cowboys and cowgirls who lead packs of 5-7 horse+riders. Their leader is a stickler for rules, but think that discipline is very important. So know the following: 1. Check in is at the Bryce Lodge 2. Check in is 45 Minutes before start of ride. And they stick to it. 3. NO Bags, Backpacks or Purses, Open Toe Shoes, Canteens or Water Bottles. You can hang a camera BTW, first 5-10 minutes is scary, since the horses walk towards the edge, but after that initial ride on the horseback, you know you can trust the horse and you start enjoying the view around you.
