The Adventure Company, Buena Vista

This was our first time ever white water rafting and it was an amazing experience! We had the best guides, Corey and Collin. They were very professional and hilarious. They knew the ends and outs of the river and had a ton of fun facts about everything! Definitely recommend to any and everyone! Would love to do this again! Thank you The Adventure Company for a memorable experience!

I was really torn with this rating. My initial thought was 4 - I would definitely come back - I would definitely recommend it to others - the staff was friendly - but there are a few small improvements that would add to the experience (more on that later), thus making it 4 versus 5. But the last thing the person in the office said to us as we left to drive home was if you give a 5 star rating, the guide will get a bonus. Usually that sort of pitch turns me off. You earn a rating - not given one. But times are tough. And it can't be easy to make a living as a guide - so I'm giving it 5 stars. As for the experience, I understand why phones are discouraged - the rowers have to pay attention and be ready to execute the guide's instructions - but on a full day excursion, there is enough downtime to snap a couple of pix without jeopardizing the person, people or the boat. Our guide was able to do it - we were lucky enough to see 3 big horn sheep within 20 feet of the boat, including a baby. The guide pulled out his phone and snapped a few pix. Our guide did not offer to send them to us. Nor did he offer to take and send any others of the family or surroundings. The pictures the company took of the boat on the rapids did not turn out (if they did, I'm not sure they were worth $50). So we have no pictures of our one and only 2022 river rafting trip in Colorado. A high-school graduation / 18th birthday present for our son. That's a complete bummer. As for the guide, he was nice. Definitely knew what he was doing. We felt safe. He was a positive influence to the experience. But on a full day trip, he should have been more engaged and talkative. I think it was either right before or right after lunch that he asked our names. That's several hours into the day. If we did not ask a lot of questions, there would have been a lot more quiet time than there was. Again, we would use the outfit again - just wish we had visual reminders reminding us why.
