Home to more than 70 species of amphibians, reptiles, and fish, ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain will give you an engaging education about the Lake Champlain Basin. Head into the action lab to build virtual mountains, lakes, and rivers with your hands, then take a virtual tour of Lake Champlain's most prominent features. In other exhibits, view displays containing lake inhabitants, such as frogs, snakes, turtles, and big fish, such as sturgeons. Make sure you check the schedule for the theater; films focus on topics such as species that inhabit the lake and surrounding area and Native American tribes indigenous to the region. Before you leave, look over the natural science-themed games and toys in the gift shop. Purchases here support the center's mission of preserving and educating people about Lake Champlain Basin. ECHO is a fantastic science center for toddlers through teens/adults. My 8 and 12 yr olds have been going since toddlers and still love it! Definitely recommend and add on a 3D movie!

What a great place! We got here later than I wanted, getting here at 3 (and they close at 5), but kid enjoyed the two hours here, building and racing a Lego racer, role playing in the Champ Lane...

Excellent and very fun. Animals are awesome. Tons and tons of happy volunteers and interactive activities. Fun for all ages. Easily killed 4 hours without even attending the 3D shows. If you are a nature science or fish enthusiast you'll have a good time. Or if you love trying to pull your weight up on a rope in different scenarios and building a robot or making raindrops dance in mid air. Gotta check it out. Even vegan food options

This is a fantastic place to spend time with my 2 year old. It's not super big so you can take your time with everything and still be done in just a couple hours. My son loved looking at the fish and exploring the science activities upstairs. We plan on returning a few times a year to check out the rotating exhibit and have some more fun.
